More Summer Fun!

One of the great things about being let go from my job last May is that I now have free wkends to fill with things other than charting and seeing patients!  It has almost felt like we have been on several mini vacations!  We all have really and truly looked forward to every single Friday!  Being pregnant and so busy has definitely got me behind on my blogging though.  So, here are a few things we have done!

We made the trip up to Beech Bend Park on a super 106 degree hot...Sunday!  We had bought buy one get one free tickets which made the day even more enjoyable knowing we got a good deal!  I don't know if the heat had scared people away or what, but it was not crowded at all!  We didn't have to wait for a single ride!

It was so hot that the attendants had to place towels in the seats of the rides so that the kids could actually sit without getting their butts burned.  The boys didn't mind at all!
Believe it or not...Parker was the one scared to do this slide. the look on Easton's face...he was terrified!  This picture cracks me up every time!

And of course, they all loved the go carts!

The water park section was PERFECT!  The kids all loved the slides and the water was the perfect temperature!
 Everyone had so much fun!
The great thing too, was that the drinks were free!  Which was wonderful on a hot day!
We have also spent many days out by the pool!  The pictures below are ones from my Mom and Dad's house.  It is hard to juggle the camera with all the wet stuff around, so I really haven't taken many pool pics this summer!  But...let's just say, my two boys are water bugs!  Parker took some time getting used to the water, but now is doing wonderfully!
Easton is like a little fish, and his little laid back attitude really comes out in the water!

There isn't anything this little gal can't or won't do.  She is a fish as well!  I think she started Parker's gain of confidence in the water.  She showed him how easy and fun it can be to be brave!

These pics were at Hoppity Hop!  The boys love bouncies!

Here are the kiddos bowling!  They are doing a special this summer where kids can bowl 2 games free every day for the entire summer.  You only have to pay for their shoe rental.  The only bad thing is, it takes forever for 3 little ones to bowl just one game!  I was worn out!  Needless to say, we have only been once. was fun for the kids!

Easton won!  Sophia 73...Parker 74...Easton 88!

And as you might have seen in an earlier post...we have been playing lots of tennis!  I can't believe how well all of the kids do at this sport!  And...they all LOVE it!  I am excited for a little bit cooler weather where we can all really enjoy getting out on the courts in the evenings!
Here is the little pro again!  She is like a sneak attack snake.  You think you are taking a little girl to try to play tennis, and she ends up giving Steven a lot more exercise then he thought! has been a fun filled summer!  I am hoping to fill these last few weeks with even more exciting things!  Today though...may be spent going on a walk.  We need little Baby Brooks to join in on the fun!  I'll keep you posted on that part!

Pregnancy with baby Brooks!

So...I am considered full term as of today with little baby Brooks!  I can't believe how fast time goes by, and that really any day now, our precious baby could arrive!  It seems like only yesterday that I found out that we were expecting our third little kiddo!  37 weeks later, I am fat, but happy, and super excited to meet our wee one!
I have definitely gained the most weight with this pregnancy...28 pounds so far!  And with how I ate today, it will be climbing even higher!  I for the first time (luckily) had to deal with a little bit of swelling in my feet yesterday!  I am very surprised that this hasn't been an earlier struggle!  Especially with how hot it has been this summer!
My back has started to hurt a little more, and rolling over feels like it takes 5 days to do, but really I love being pregnant! I know that very shortly, my pregnancy days all together could be over.  I may not have #4, and so I am really trying to enjoy these last few wks.  I know also that things are going to continue to get even more uncomfortable, and my planning brain will get more anxious over the baby's exact date of arrival.  So...I am going to spend the next days really relishing the baby's kicks...playing our new little lullaby via youtube with my kindle against my belly to sing him to sleep, and imagine with the kids just how little Brooks plans to come into this world.
The best way that I can describe waiting for labor to begin is to say that it is almost like waiting for a phone call saying that you are going to be going on vacation...the best vacation filled with great memories and experiences.  You may get that call in 5 min or in 3-4 wks.  What a difference in time that is when you are super excited for it to begin.  In any way shape or form though, the day is coming...and it is going to be a GREAT day!  I can't wait to meet you little Brooks!
Here are some pictures of my belly along the way of this pregnancy!

It's a Boy!

A real picture of baby Brooks outside of my tummy will arrive soon!  Can't wait to see his little face!

Cousin Sophia came up for a visit from Arkansas.  We all had been counting down the days until her arrival! The boys could not have been happier on the day we actually got to take her home for a full 2 wks!  She traded back and forth between mine and my Mom's house!  We filled the days with lots of fun activities.  It was fun for the boys and really neat for us adults having an older child around!  She was super helpful, and so much calmer than my two crazy boys!  I could see us eventually adding a fourth little in 4 yrs!  Nothing soon, if even at all!  But...the thought did honestly cross our minds a few times!
I took several pictures on my regular camera, and several on Steven's phone.  For some reason, Steven's phone isn't automatically uploading the pictures like it normally does.  So... I will do a second post with some more of our "Sophia" pics later.
From the moment she arrived, the kids insisted on sitting in the back seat all together!  This was a difficult task considering my hands could barely fit in between each seat to buckle them!  Not to mention that my big belly could barely even fit in the back in general!

The kids also insisted on playing tennis on one of the hottest days ever!  I was surprised at how well this went!  Sophia was a little pro and my boys barely fought over anything!
Who knew a kid could get so dirty on a tennis court!

This picture was from the Freedom Festival!  Hendersonville does their July 4th celebration on the 3rd.  It was nice bc it means that no one has to stay up late doing Fireworks and then wake up early for work the next morning.  They had an area full of bouncy houses and slides!  The kids really seemed to enjoy this even after going to Hoppity Hop already that morning!  Hoppity Hop is a building full of bouncies!  I'll post pics of that later.

Here are the kids waiting for their face paint!

Getting ready to watch the Fireworks!

After getting home!  Nothing like baths and settling in with a movie!
